{almost} wordless wednesday

K is OBSESSED with being outside.  She fights you on going inside and promptly has a meltdown, in true toddler fashion
But she is happy as can be playing & running around!
She saw daddy come home and was SO excited!  I love that she just lights up!!
Happy Wednesday, friends!!

15 months

Miss Kallen, you are 15 months old (almost 16 months, I know.  Its been a long couple weeks).  These months are going quicker and quicker.  We love watching you grow and change each and everyday.  It is so amazing how much you learn and develop every day.

You had your 15 month check last week and you are still growing fabulous.  You are in the 50th percentile for weight and 70th for height.  The ped said that he loves screaming, feisty toddlers when he does his examinations.  He says it shows 'spunk & assertiveness'.  I laughed out loud and said that yes, you definitely carry those traits probably from me.  Mama didnt really like doing the 'bear hold' on you for the exam or the shots though...
Sister has been rocking some new dance moves.  They are hilarious and when I get them on video I will be sure to share.  My favorite is her 'guitar hero' arm swing.  I am not joking.  It has me in stitches when she gets it going!
You have been getting all 4 molars and it has been rough.    We have prayed each and every night that those stinkers come through ASAP.  My oh my.  I pray that you really, really dont have my pain tolerance, or lack there of I should say.
this was after the shots, poor sweet baby :(
Sleeping was going better.  And then the molars decided to come.  So yeah, naps are pretty much nonexistent and you are up around 3-4 times a night. When you do nap, it seems we are only on the one nap schedule.

You have a feisty temper and you seem to get more comfortable with it every day.  Which is quite terrifying.  You have taught yourself how to have a fit on the floor, in your highchair if your food isnt ready quick enough, and clinging onto my leg.  Ha!

the paci has been close by these days along with the sad face for the teeth
Some things I wish you hadnt done but I dont want to forget you have 'accomplished':
-throwing multiple things in the toilet (books, paci's, lovies, you name it)
-eating dog food.
-climbing from our bed to our dresser.  This one gave me a heart attack.  I was less than a foot away, too.
-helping yourself to the fridge (your favorite to take out and play with?  ahem, beer.  Mother of the year, I know...)  You'd think after this post I'd be more consistent with locking it...
How did these 'events' happen you ask?  I have an unhealthy obsession with laundry.  So that is how the first one happened.  The dog food happened when I was going pee.  For 2 seconds.  TWO seconds.  The bed to dresser, I was hanging up said laundry less than a foot away.  No joke.
Regardless of your extra sass in your step this past month, you are still as sweet as can be.  You have definitely been a mama's girl through all of this and although it wears on me at times, I would not trade that for a second.  You give me the best hugs and kisses and it melts my heart.  I love you sweet, sweet princess and all that sass secretly makes me smile.  most of the time.

Weekly Eats & the fabulous, gorgeous, beautiful, & fantastic weather

Minnesota is having some fabulous, gorgeous, beautiful, fantastic weather right now.  Especially for March.  Read: I am not blogging.  I just havent sat down on the computer long enough to blog.  I uploaded 323 pictures this evening (they were only since Friday!) so I hope to have a few this week.  Along with Kallen's 15 month post.  Im behind.  I JUST got the March for Babies email out late last night.  Ill post the email later, but here is our team webpage if you want to learn more about this walk and if you feel led to donate, encourage or pray, we appreciate each and every one!
on one of our many, many walks this past week!

Because of the nice weather our meals from last week got switched a bit.  We had the Chicken Noodle Soup from M-W and I cant remember what we did Thursday (honestly it was probably a salad or cereal night, poor husband) and then Friday we grilled!  I was too busy out on walks/at the park/playdates to be cooped up inside cooking!  Here is this week's plan:

Monday - Leftovers - we grilled last night too so we will be enjoying those for one more night :)
Tuesday- Pioneer Woman's Spicy Dr Pepper Shredded Pork (since I didnt make on Sunday)
Wednesday - Molly's Italian Meatballs and Sauce (since I didnt make last week!)
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - I am SO excited for this deliciousness

And Saturday & Sunday are still undecided.  As usual.  If it is nice, we will probably grill!  It is my favorite...and the husband usually handles all of the grill duties, so double bonus for me ;)

Happy Monday!

{sorta} wordless wednesday

Here is {most} of our weekend in pictures!
we went on our first jog of the spring!  It was fabulous!
Dinner at the Workings
Hanging out with Auntie Nikki!!
and yes, K is wearing the same outfit from the night before.  It is a long boring story.  Regardless, I think she is still pretty cute.  :)
Playing outside!  She is obsessed
We invited Great Grandpa over, K was MORE than happy to have him take her around outside.
She would not let him come in.  If they were coming towards the house K would point to go back 'ousie' (k's version of outside)
Playing with Uncle Chrissy on the couch.  She was so proud to be sitting there like a big girl, ha!
Happy Wednesday!

weekly meals

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and especially prayers throughout the last 2 weeks as we said goodbye to my grandma.  It was an exhausting week.  I took a little blogging (& internet, for the most part) break so I could spend time with the family and then once everything settled I needed to put my house myself back together.  Dress clothes cleaned, ironed and put away, photo's of grandma  & Kal put back in the baby book, millions of sippy's cleaned and put away, all the fun things like that just needed to be done.  Needless to say, I am so behind here and dont know if it is even possible to 'catch up' with the internet...So this week ill start fresh!

Last week,it was kind of a free for all with dinner.  We had frozen pizza, random leftovers, and more frozen pizza.  This week is different!

Monday:  Chicken Noodle Soup a la From Mrs. to Mama
Tuesday: leftovers
Wednesday: Cajun Chicken Pasta a la The Culinary Couple (originated from PW)
Thursday: Salad/leftovers
Friday: Italian Meatballs and Sauce a la Duchess of Fork
Saturday: I am never sure about the weekend plans, unless we have set dinner plans.  Especially with J still working on Saturday's.  We will probably just have leftovers from the week...
Sunday: I am thinking about The Pioneer Woman's Spicy Dr Pepper Shredded Pork minus some of the spicy.  The Dr. Pepper is getting me here.  Especially since we already have Dr. Pepper here.  score

dont let this happy girlfriend fool ya, she has been a BEAR the past 2 days while cutting her 4 (yes, all 4) molars.  this was taken last weekend, unbeknown to me that those little stinkers were headed our way...teething is for the birds, not toddlers :(  Sister has been a mess.

So I am stepping up my game in the meals department this week.  I am hoping to continue this, I just have to make a plan and prepare ahead of time.  Not to difficult, I know.  Go link up with Molly, the beautiful Duchess of Fork with your menu!  Have a fabulous week!

home

thank you all for your kind words and prayers for my sweet grandma.  She went home to Jesus last night and we were all by her bedside.  I am so glad she is perfect and healthy up in heaven.  But we miss her dearly here.  I find comfort in the fact that she is with Jesus and our sweet baby girl
Please be in prayer for our family, and most importantly my grandpa as he is missing his best friend and wife of 54 years.  They had a true love that was so evident, it was truly inspiring.  It just hearts my heart to see him hurting.  Not to mention my mom, and aunts & uncles (& everyone else who has known and loved her).
