little lakers fan

we had a nice & relaxing weekend!  It is snowing here today in Minnesota and I am SO thankful that I am able to be home with my sassy little girl and snuggle her up all day long!  I do not take one second for granted and each time she snuggles into me I squeeze her tight and try and soak in the moment.  I know they don't stay this small for long, and it is one of my favorite stages!
Look at that lip!  She must have been a little chilly...

On Friday Josh & I just took it easy by playing a game & watching a movie.  Kali enjoyed hanging out and relaxing as well.  It was a great night :)

On Saturday we had a family get together for the January birthdays, mine of which was included.  It was a very nice birthday celebration and enjoyed ourselves!  Here is Kallen with her Great Grandma & Grandpa and cousin Hannah.  Hannah was born in July and is just a little peach!  So sweet.
Miss K had a little tutu on...I was in heaven!
On Sunday we went to church, and it was a baptism service.  It was so good & so emotional!  Such a wonderful moment to witness!
As much as I enjoy frilly dresses and sassy outfits, we do have to support daddy's favorite team so Kallen represented for the team at church.  Clearly I didnt let her out without the bow to complete the "little Lakers fan" outfit!

cuddle bug

Playing catch up again, here are some pictures from the end of the last week

My little cuddle bug.  I love her so much!

A day in the life of miss K's wardrobe.  Seriously, she went through about 3 outfits & 3 blankets that day!

Grandma, Kallen & daddy

I could just kiss those cheeks all day long!

Chopped liver

Grandma & Grandpa Nixon stopped by for a visit tonight, they were on a cruise last week so they asked to come by to see Miss Kallen (yeah, we are chopped liver now that the little miss is here :)  Daddy & momma were able to eat dinner at the same time, as it seems every other night one of us had to be holding her while the other one ate.  Good thing she is cute and we don't mind holding her.  I don't want to jinx anything...but the last 2 nights Kallen has been sleeping by 9 and slept 5 hours straight the first night and 7 straight last night...AMAZING I tell you!  She was up most of the day, but 7 straight hours ill take all day long!  I'm off to bed now, hoping my sweet babe will stay sleeping :)

Pink!

I was supposed to have a doctor's appointment today to figure out that last darn stitch that I just cant get rid of, but my doctors office called and he was pulled into surgery so they had to reschedule.  No problem, I was actually glad since I didn't have a chance to get much done yesterday, today was the day!  Kali was in much better spirits and we had such a great day!

I received a text from Bethany to see if Kallen & I wanted to join her & Hopers at McDonalds to eat, visit & play!  So we bundled up and ventured out, it was fun to visit and get out for a bit, even if it was only for a short time.  Thanks Bethany!  They are expecting their little guy any day, I am so excited to have a nephew & we cannot wait to meet the little man!

I am so excited to dress Kali in "valentine" themed clothes this year - it is so fun!   Most of her things are pink anyways, but it all seems a little more exciting because of Valentines day for some reason.  Josh thinks I'm nuts :)  Here is our little valentine with all her pink!  I love it!

Hope your all having a great week!!

I see alot of purple in your future....

Because of this little gadget
And these books:

And a few issues with blogger this weekend, I am behind!  So here is a little, very brief overview of the past few days along with my project 365 photos.

I bought this outfit about a year and a half ago after I had Emma.  That was part of my therapy.  I could not wait to put a little babe in this adorable sleeper (the picture doesnt do it justice, it is seriously just precious), and when I pulled it out of the drawer I just cried.  I am so unbelievably grateful to have such a beautiful, healthy little girl and we are so overwhelmed with joy!

Kallen is enjoying her bath's more!  She usually just stares in the mirror the whole time, and cries when we take her out!

Its not all fun & games people...the little miss does indeed cry!  But still cute enough to take a picture :)
This is mom's favorite bow right now, and daddy doesnt disapprove because it is purple (lakers/vikings)...so I see ALOT of purple bows in your future Kali!

Kent & Leah came over on Saturday to hangout and meet the little diva herself!  Josh & I went to college with Kent & Leah, they are just gems and we had a blast hanging out with them!  I think Leah looks great with a baby on her, it suits her well ;)

Kallen & daddy matching in their Lakers attire - Josh was so proud!

Today was a little rough.  I had MANY plans to be productive such as clean, organize, workout & do laundry and NONE of those were completed.  Or started I should say.  I had a killer headache and Kallen pretty much stayed in the sling the whole day.  Dont let this picture fool you, she closed her eyes because of the flash...she was definitely not sleeping :)  Although I had many plans to be productive, I will never, ever, (ever!) complain about my baby girl wanting to be held/loved on.  I love being her mommy!

Okay...now that I am caught up hopefully I will continue on this path!

[pur-fikt]- adjective
exactly right, without any flaws or defects:
perfect little fingers & toes.

sweet little cub

I have been a bit behind on blogging.  This sassy little girl has been a bit clingy and doesn't like to sleep not being held....Not that I mind holding her every second but doesn't leave much time to do pretty much anything else.  Needless to say I have been shower-less, make-up less, and just pretty much put together-less for about 2-3 days.  I wouldn't have it any other way though!  Thankfully Auntie Nikki came over yesterday for a little bit so I could make dinner - such a help!

She is still pretty cute though so I have been able to get some pictures of Miss Kali...

Our dearest friends The Evans fam got Kali this adorable outfit and I love the little ears!  She looked like a sweet little cub :)
All snuggled up in her jammies with her lovey and paci.  If you are ever at our house at night you will find Kallen like this!

Project 365

I have seen this around other blogs and thought it was a great way to document without the pressure of having to write a blog post everyday!  Or it might be my laziness, call it what you want :)
Kallen's friend Adrian (This momma's new babe!) was born on the 31st, so we were able to go and visit him!  He has tons of hair and is pretty cute, so we will have to eliminate the snuggling in a couple of years (because Kallen is not allowed to date until she is 35 according to her father)
Daddy decided to try out the Moby wrap, because the little miss usually conks right out, talk about melting your heart :)

First time on the play mat - she didnt really think much of it, but did lay there pretty content
Another bath, she is starting to enjoy them a little more now!  This adorable bath towel with her name monogrammed on it is from THIS family with the cutest twins around!
Classic Kal, all snuggled up with her paci in her mouth :)
One month old!  I can hardly believe it.  Where has the time gone??
She is snuggling her lovie!  My oh my I thought it was one of the cutest things ever!  And of course, with the paci in her mouth!
How sweet is this?  Hope & Kallen were getting their diapers changed and Hope decided to hold Kali's hand - too cute!
Before church on Sunday.  Her flower is my favorite!
Kobe & Kali snuggling on the couch.  He always has an eye on her :)

Hopefully I can keep up with the pictures from here on out!  I know it would be great to have to document Kallen's first year!!

Best yet

This has been the best birthday yet.  I could not be more happier today, as I was able to lounge around with my sweet girl.  If she wasnt enough, Kali & her daddy got me a Kindle!  I cannot wait to start reading, I think it is going to be a great tool to keep me awake at those 1 & 4 am feedings :)  If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know - I love a good book!

One Month!

I cannot believe that our miss Kallen Jayne is One Month old today!!!  Time has gone so incredibly fast, and if I start thinking about it I start to cry (still emotional people!).  I couldn't be more proud and thrilled to have a healthy and beautiful little girl.  Here are a few things that we have learned about our little girl.

-She LOVES her paci!  Basically if she isn't nursing or completely out, she wants the paci in her mouth. I have so many pictures of her crying and then the next picture she is content with the paci in the mouth...

Oh how I love her - regardless of the paci :)
-She was not a fan of the sponge baths prior to her umbilical cord falling off but now that she can sit in the infant bath she enjoys them a little more.
-She usually sleeps in 3 hour increments at night and every once in awhile we will get a little longer.  I have had a couple blissful 4-4.5 hour increments which are few & far between, but are blissful nonetheless!  I know she is in a deep sleep when her arms are out of her swaddle & her mouth is open - sleeps just like me!
-Kallen is a champ at nursing, and has been since day one.  I am so very thankful for this!  She usually eats consistently every 3 hours and can go some stretches a little longer.  The past week and a half she has been eating every 2.5 hours at times, which is exhausting - especially during the night!  But at those times when I am soooo tired I remember how I would have done ANYTHING to be up at 3 am doing a feeding the past 2 years and I am instantly grateful to be exhausted & disheveled :)
-She loves having her hands by her face.  She scratches herself regardless of how many times I cut her nails.  Her hands/fingers are so long so the mittens dont fit her!  When we swaddle her at night, she wriggles her arms out as soon as possible.
-She can be a bit of a drama queen at times.  When she wakes up she will have this horrific face and start screaming and then 2 seconds later she is just fine.  It is pretty funny at times to see this because literally not 5 seconds more she is fine.  She also does the same when nursing if she gets distracted or falls asleep & then wakes up.

Some of her nicknames that she has already adorned from mom & dad (I am a huge on nicknames - I cant help it - they just come out of my mouth!)
-Kali
-Kal
-Sis/sister
-Kalindo
-I am sure there are many more, but those have stuck so far.

I think Kal is over 9 lbs, but since she got such a raving review at her 2 week check (weighed in at 8lb 5 oz) we dont go back until she is 2 months.  I am interested to see what she will weigh in at!

Happy one month sweet girl!  Mommy & Daddy love you so much!
