21 weeks

How Far Along: 21 Weeks

Size of baby:  At my ultrasound last week she was 12 oz so I am assuming somewhere around there.  According to babycenter.com she should be around 10.5 inches long, the length of a carrot.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I wore a non-maternity shirt yesterday and it was getting pretty tight...there are still a few things that fit fine but my work pants are all maternity and I need the belly band for my jeans.  Dresses are still non maternity as well.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: Its great! It is such a God given gift, especially for this over emotional worried pregnant lady...

Sleep: I have developed some sleeping issues and they are no fun! I have been getting progesterone shots weekly & have wonderful bruises on each hip (that I am very grateful for). I am a side & stomach sleeper and since sleeping on my stomach isnt really working out, each time I turn onto my side I wake up in pain...well it makes it an interesting night...

Symptoms:  It seems that if I "overdo" it at all, I start to have contractions.  So I have been trying to take it a little more easy!

Cravings: Sweets, Licorice, chips, beef pickles & Simply lemonade, the raspberry kind.

Best Moment this week: feeling movement is always the best moment for me.  She always moves especially after I eat, which I just love (eating & feeling her move :)

What I am looking forward to: A nice relaxing weekend!
Happy Friday!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Weekend fun

We had a WONDERFUL weekend in Iowa with the Evans family!  I was cleared to travel after my appointment on Thursday so on Friday we headed out after work.  We got there late on Friday night and left on Sunday morning but it was so worth it!  Jon & Katie just bought a house & have done SO much with it and looks great!  Here are a few pictures from our fun & memorable weekend!!

Josh & Jon are putting together a baby highchair that we got for miss Hallie - it turned out super cute!!
Harper decided that hanging out with the grownups is much more fun than sleeping so she cheered us on as we played Rook & Nertz on Saturday night!

Isnt she the sweetest little thing?  She is such a doll!
These are the only 2 pictures I got of Hallie - she is a fun & crazy girl - and all over!  We love those girls so much!!
Hallie playing with her baby & highchair!  Too cute!
They also got us a gift for our baby girl - Here is my favorite outfit - I love it!
It has little ears on the hood - I about died.  It is so cute!!!
We had such a great time - and we decided that we need to move closer!!!!  We cant wait to see all of you again!

20 weeks

Happy Friday!!  I am finally updating with a few pictures along with my 20 week pregnancy highlights...

How Far Along: 20 weeks...half way there!!

Size of baby: Our sweet baby girl is 12 ounces according to her ultrasound yesterday & about 11 inches long, about the size of a banana.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 3lbs

Maternity Clothes: I am still wearing my bella band with my jeans but have moved into my maternity work pants & some maternity shirts...

Gender: Its a GIRL!!  Names to come...

Movement: Its great! It is such a God given gift, especially for this over emotional worried pregnant lady...

What I miss: nothing

Sleep: I have developed some sleeping issues and they are no fun!  I have been getting progesterone shots weekly & have wonderful bruises on each hip (that I am very grateful for).  I am a side & stomach sleeper and since sleeping on my stomach isnt really working out, each time I turn onto my side I wake up in pain...well it makes it an interesting night...

Symptoms: My meat aversions are starting to come around...THANKFULLY! I am just not a meat less type of girl so that was hard!

Cravings: Licorice, chips, beef pickles & Simply lemonade, the raspberry kind...SO good!

Best Moment this week: feeling movement is always the best moment for me. I feel the baby move especially after I eat, which I just love (eating & feeling the baby move :).  We also had 2 long ultrasounds in the past week which were so much fun.  The best news was that she is healthy.  It was also fun to see that baby girl be SO incredibly active as well...even if it is a look into our future - ill take it!

What I am looking forward to:  Seeing the Evans Family this weekend!!  They have 2 sweet girls, Hallie & Harper and I cant wait until we can enjoy the weekend with them!  I see many games of Rook & nertz in the future for us!  We always have a wonderful time with them and make great memories.

This sweet girl is Hannah.  Josh's cousin Tommy & his wife Peggy had this adorable girl last week and we got to see her on Wednesday night for Grandma's birthday!  She is a little peanut & is already loved and adored so much!

I have been eyeing this bookshelf from Pottery Barn Kids for awhile & I finally purchased it.  Josh wasnt too thrilled but I like it & think it will look great on the wall rather than a large bookshelf taking up more room.  I started to put some of the books I had in there (from school & teaching) & would love to get another one but I dont think my husband would approve... :)
After we found out we are having a girl this is what I purchased @ target...I thought it was super cute and for $3 well I didnt think I could go wrong!
Speaking of our little girl, here is a profile picture of her from yesterday showing her nose, mouth & chin
Here are her tiny feet...she would cross her legs alot - Emma did the same thing in many of her ultrasounds as well
Here is them confirming she is really a she!! No doubt there!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend & are able to make some wonderful memories of your own!

Bring on the bows

I am back!!  My WONDERFUL husband was so gracious and we got a new laptop!  Walmart was having a sale, and we priced out how much it would be if we would have current one fixed or get a new one.  This one doesnt have all the bells & whistles but we only use it for picture storage, few excel & word documents & internet...so no need for all the whistles!

Anyways - I am exhausted so this wont be long, just wanted to have a quick update to let you know...

We are having another GIRL!!!  Bring on the bows & dresses...we are just in love.

We had a ultrasound on Friday & everything looked great with our sweet baby girl.  She is an active little one thats for sure...and a stinker as well!  The u/s tech would try & shake my belly and had me on each side but this girl was not going to give her what she wanted.  Definitely my husband's child :)  Everything looked wonderful, I was so relieved & thankful among many other emotions as well!  I will continue to have my bi-weekly appointments with the perinatologists, the lovely 17p shots & the regular ob appts as well.  I am so unbelievably thankful for the proactive doctors & nurses that give me such hope for this pregnancy.  Through everything with Emma, my miscarriage and this pregnancy I have always had wonderful doctors & nurses, which is such a blessing.

God has sure put some amazing people in my life through our "storms" and for that I just smile, as we know...he has HIS plan and knows ours, down to the number of our days.  Wow.  Such an almighty & gracious God we serve.  I am so thankful for both of my girls Lord, we love them so dearly.

I have a busy week ahead of me, but I promise I will have a post soon with some pictures!!

Have a wonderful Monday friends!

19 weeks

I have been using our ancient desktop since our laptop hasnt been working, and I was on the computer for about 20 minutes before we went to my in-laws for dinner...I came home to write an update post after I had loaded many pictures since June and the screen said that the computer has detected a hardrive failure...UGHH!!!  So another post without our pictures & a quick update...I hope all of you are wonderful - I will need to spend some serious time catching up on blogs once we get ONE of our computers fixed!!

How Far Along: 19 weeks

Size of baby: 8.5 ounces, the size of an heirloom tomato & about 6 inches long

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  3lbs according to my scale at home

Maternity Clothes: I am still wearing my bella band with my jeans along with my work pants but dresses are still much more comfortable!

Gender: Well the debate is still out...at my appointment on the 2nd (17 weeks) the u/s sound tech quick looked and thought it was a GIRL! We were shocked (both of us were convinced it was a boy since my pregnancies have been so different)...she said she couldnt look long but if she had to guess she would say girl (Josh is still hoping for a "late bloomer"...)- we will confirm at my ultrasound on Friday and then I also have another u/s the following week. Being high risk has its perks of seeing the baby so much! What we do KNOW is that this baby is a feisty one...he/she was all over during my u/s would wave at us then move, then cross their legs & just would not stop!

Movement: Its great! It is such a God given gift, especially for this over emotional worried pregnant lady...I felt movement with Emma but because there was no amniotic fluid with her it was a different feeling, more uncomfortable I would say...

What I miss: nothing

Sleep: I have had no problem sleeping. I do wake up about every 2-3 hours to go to the bathroom but am able to go right back to sleep

Symptoms: My meat aversions are starting to come around...THANKFULLY! I am just not a meat less type of girl so that was hard!

Cravings: I still love chipotle...other cravings have been licorice, chips, pickles & Simply lemonade, the raspberry kind...SO good!

Best Moment this week: feeling movement is always the best moment for me.  I feel the baby move especially after I eat, which I just love (eating & feeling the baby move :)

What I am looking forward to:  My appointment on Friday - it is a 70 minute ultrasound so I hope my SIL enjoys watching her niece or nephew on the screen!  Joshua cant go and because I have learned the hard way in the past to never go to an appointment alone, she is going with me.  She has been such a wonderful support & am so thankful for her!  Plus...hopefully the little bugger will let us confirm if its a he or she!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week, I hope to have a computer working by this weekend...then I will be sure to let you know if baby Nixon is a boy or girl!!!

18 weeks

I have been MIA from blogging the past week because our laptop is on the fritz!  I dont know what happened but it sure is frustrating!  So I am upstairs trying to blog on our slower than molasses desktop...but at least it's something!  So this post will be short & sweet...basically my 18 week highlights.

How Far Along: 18 weeks

Size of baby: about 5.5 inches long, about the length of a bell pepper..

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1lb and counting...

Maternity Clothes: I got a bella band & it is working GREAT!!  I can wear my jeans still along with my work pants but dresses are still much more comfortable!

Gender: Well the debate is still out...at my appointment on the 2nd (17 weeks) the u/s sound tech quick looked and thought it was a GIRL!  We were shocked (both of us were convinced it was a boy since my pregnancies have been so different)...she said she couldnt look long but if she had to guess she would say girl (Josh is still hoping for a "late bloomer"...)- we will confirm at my ultrasound this next week on Friday and then I also have another u/s the following week.

I am just not a meat less type of person so that was hard!

Cravings: I still love chipotle...other cravings have been licorice, chips, pickles & Simply lemonade, the raspberry kind...SO good!

Best Moment this week: Feeling movement when I was having a freak out panic moment (yes I seem to have many of these...) but I started praying then felt the baby move - it was such a blessing!

What I am looking forward to: getting to 28 weeks.  I normally try and make short term goals, but this is just the least we have to get to & then I think ill relax a little.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend...hopefully my wonderful hubby will take our laptop in to get fixed so I can catch up on blogs!  I would take it in...but in my experience being a woman and bringing in cars, computers or anything "manly"...just doesnt work.

I wont forget...

These words have been ingrained in my head since before I can remember and they mean so much to me.  The chorus is my favorite part and the words are so powerful...

I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free,
And I wont forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

I hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful Fourth of July.  Thank you for those who have served our country and for our soldiers who are currently serving.  You are more than appreciated!

17 weeks and an update

This week has been a little long, but overall great!  I absolutely LOVE the fourth of July and just summer in general!  I wrote a post about the Fourth of July last year as well.  It is just my favorite!  I wish we could be in South Dakota with my family, we have a cabin there and I love being there!  My brother posted this picture on facebook and it made me wish I was there even more!!
So beautiful!!

It is a 4.5 - 5 hour drive however, and with me being high risk it is just not a smart decision to go.  I really would not want to be stuck in SD for the remainder of my pregnancy should anything happen.  We might go to my in laws place that is about an hour away - that is if the perinatologist clears me to travel (I have an appointment this afternoon).  Hopefully all will look great today and we can enjoy the weekend at the lake!

On Tuesday night Bethany and I went and saw Eclipse!  Yes I am a major fan, it was great!

Hopefully I can see it again soon...It was seriously really good!!

I didnt post yesterday because of Send Love to Cohen - which was a day of silence from blogging to support Megan and Brent as they had to bury their sweet baby boy.   Please cover the Marshalls in prayer

Here are Baby Nixon's highlights for the week...

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 Weeks

Size of baby: size of a turnip - 5 oz and 5 inches long

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Same so far...

Maternity Clothes: Still in all of my regular clothes - but dresses are MUCH more comfortable!

Gender: Unknown...

Movement: I have started to feel a little movement here and there this past week!

What I miss: nothing

Sleep: I have had no problem sleeping. I do wake up about every 2-3 hours to go to the bathroom but am able to go right back to sleep

Symptoms: During the 1st trimester I could hardly eat meat - that is starting to come around a bit but am still having some food aversions to meat and some other foods

Cravings: Still the veggie bowls bowls from chipotle - I didnt think I would live to see the day I would ever get a meat-less meal from any where.

Best Moment this week: Feeling movement!  It is reassuring to me and something I am so grateful for.

What I am looking forward to: I have an appointment this afternoon - I have ultrasounds at every appointment and if baby Nixon cooperates hopefully we can find out if it is a boy/girl!

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Fourth of July!!!  I will be sure to update if we find out the sex of the baby!

Send Love to Cohen

I am participating in a day of silence from blogging for Megan & Brent, in honor of their son Cohen, who is being buried today.  Please pray for Megan & Brent, as losing a child is the most heartwrenching thing parents will ever endure.  You can link up to do the same at Send Love to Cohen.
