Weekend fun

We had a great weekend! We went to the MN State Fair on Saturday with Jayson, Bethany & Hopers and Josh's parents.  It was very HOT but we survived :)

Hopers with her Uncle Josh - she was having fun with his sunglasses!
Hopers decided that she wanted to sit in her aunt Gigi's ride while we stopped at one of our food stops.  She looked too cute!
Then she decided that she was too cool to ride in the wheelchair or her stroller and wanted to push the wheelchair herself!  She is a crack up, let me tell you!
Then on Sunday...we decided to paint our baby girls room!  Here are a few before pictures...I dont think ill post the after pictures until we get some furniture in there because it is a little too much green for me right now...ha!
Dont worry, I will show the room soon :)  I also had to share my most recent purchase - Go Vikings!!!!

25 weeks

How Far Along: 25 weeks
Size of baby: She is measuring about 13.5 inches these days.  Weighing in at about a pound and a half — she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat.

Gain/Loss: 12 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I am still wearing some non-maternity clothes but they arent that comfortable...there are still a few things that fit fine but my work pants are all maternity and I need the belly band for my jeans.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: Its great! It is such a God given gift, especially for this over emotional worried pregnant mama...

Sleep: I still have a few sleeping issues. The progesterone shots (that I am very grateful for) keep me "alert" throughout the night.

Symptoms: just getting bigger!

Cravings: COLD water.  I have always usually preferred room temperature water but lately I prefer super cold water.  Must be this hot weather!!

Best Moment this week: Just talking about our sweet baby girl!

What I am looking forward to: Going to the MN State Fair!  The best part is the food of course!  We are planning on going this weekend, I cannot wait!!

I am hoping that it isnt THAT crowded, but I am not going to get my hopes up.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

24 weeks

How Far Along: 24 weeks

Size of baby: According to babycenter.com - our little girl has gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her over a pound. She is almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), and soon she will start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am thinking I am close to the 10 lb mark. I will find out at my appt today...

Just in preparation for those night feedings right?

Symptoms: just getting bigger!
Cravings: Sweets!

Best Moment this week:  Josh and I have finally agreed on a paint scheme for the room...which has been a long conversation and debate!

What I am looking forward to:  Getting her room ready!  We are working slowly but surely.  Pictures will come soon!

My heart has been heavy this week.  One of my best friends unfortunately had a miscarriage and I know it is difficult not only enduring the loss of your baby, but also being around so many others who are pregnant.  She has a wonderful faith and has many prayers from family and friends, but as many of us who have lost a baby, we know it is anything but easy.  Could you please pray for her?  I dont want to share more details for her privacy but I know she would appreciate the prayers!  Thanks!

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend....my shelf in my closet literally fell off the wall this week so we have an additional project to take on so the closet isnt in shambles anymore!  We also have the fantasy football draft and a few other plans - I just love the weekends!!

The longest I have been pregnant....

I am so behind on the blog - It was a busy week & weekend and now I am pooped out!  Here are my stats from last Thursday......

How Far Along: 23 weeks+

Size of baby: Our baby girl is over 11 inches long and over a pound according to babycenter.com.  She is about the size of a large mango.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  I am thinking I am close to the 10 lb mark.  I will find out at my appt on Friday...

Sleep: I have developed some sleeping issues and they are no fun! I have been getting progesterone shots weekly & have wonderful bruises on each hip (that I am very grateful for). I am a side & stomach sleeper and since sleeping on my stomach isnt really working out, each time I turn onto my side I wake up in pain...so it makes it interesting....

Symptoms: It seems that if I "overdo" it at all, I start to have contractions. So I have been trying to take it a little more easy!

Cravings: Sweets!!  Not good for the waistline friends.....not at all!!

Best Moment this week: Surpassing the 23 week mark.  This has been the longest amount of time I have been pregnant!

What I am looking forward to: Figuring out the paint for the baby room...and other rooms of our house!  We are still debating but are coming close to a decision!

It was great getting past the 23 week mark.  I am so thankful for a healthy baby girl!  She moves constantly and I can tell she is growing, as the kicks and movements are becoming stronger.  It has been a wonderful day here in MN - I was able to open the windows and turn the air off - seriously made me so happy!!  I love it!  I hope this weather stays for a long time.....that HOT & Humid weather is just not for me at all.  Have a wonderful week!

23

23.  The taboo number.  The number that means so much to us but just another week in any other "normal" pregnancy.  We longed for this "viability" week with Emma although naively having NO clue to the challenges she/we would face if she did survive being born that soon.  We got to 23 weeks with Miss Emma & now we are almost to 23 weeks with her baby sister.  I feel like I have so much of this pregnancy left.  I am so thrilled to be at 23 weeks, not on bedrest, with a very active baby girl.  To be honest, I want this pregnancy to fly by because I sometimes feel so on edge that I am just waiting for something to go wrong.  Granted this hasn't been an uneventful pregnancy but overall it is going well.  Now I just want to fast forward through the fall and head into November...think that will happen??  Most likely not, but I am thankful that I have many things to consume the remaining months of this pregnancy....

First - my brother's football games!  He is back at Winona State for football & we cant wait!  Hopefully everything is going well with the pregnancy so we can travel to some of his games!

I love watching my brother play football and I also love watching the MN Vikings!  I know I know.......I bet you are just dying to know if Brett is coming back or not??!!  I pray he does!!  I am sure we wont know until late in the summer/early fall but I dont care if he doesnt show up until the first game!  We are also doing a fantasy football league with some close family & friends so I think it will be alot of fun!!  I am so looking forward to it!

Brett, in case you are reading...you NEED to come back!!

I also am looking forward to the beautiful crisp fall weather.  Minnesota has had some absolutely atrociously hot & humid days in the past couple of weeks.  Just doesnt mix with pregnancy - it is just pretty much miserable.

And lastly....all of the babies & baby showers!  I feel like many of our close friends & family members are pregnant and that is so fun!  Basically the babies are due starting in November and they continue until late February!  Ohh I cannot wait!  I love celebrating such an amazing, God given miracle.

22 weeks

How Far Along: 22 Weeks

Size of baby: Our baby girl is nearing the big 1 lb marker & about 11 inches long...babycenter.com says she is the length of a spaghetti squash.  I had no idea what a spaghetti squash was so I had to look it up...

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 6 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I am still wearing some non-maternity clothes but they arent that comfortable...there are still a few things that fit fine but my work pants are all maternity and I need the belly band for my jeans.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: Its great! It is such a God given gift, especially for this over emotional worried pregnant lady...

Cravings: Sweets, chips, beef pickles & raspberry lemonade...so good.

Best Moment this week: Getting to Friday!  This has been a long & crazy week - I cant wait for the weekend!!

What I am looking forward to:  We are debating the paint color for her room & hopefully we will start painting this weekend!  I will be sure to take before & after photos if we do!  I have really been working on getting things organized...as I know how things can change in an instant and I could be on bedrest.  So I am praying that I can get as much done as I would like prior where I am not "overdoing it" as my doctors refer too...

Have a great weekend friends!  I am resisting the urge to complain about summer...so all I will say is I cannot wait for FALL!!!  I love the crisp cool weather where I can have my windows open & it is cold at night.  I cannot wait for FOOTBALL!  I love football & have high hopes that I can go to a few of my brothers football games.  We will see!  Oh but I just cannot wait for the fall!!

Okay now go enjoy your summer-filled weekend!   :)

Thing for the "ie"...

I have some pictures that I need to upload but since I am engulfed in the Bachelorette finale I am just not getting up to get the camera.  After watching half of the finale - I have no idea how it is going to end!!  They are trying to make us think all different things!!

So instead I will leave you with our top name contenders.  We have been discussing names for awhile now, but have been unable to narrow them down.  I love everything about nicknames (so that also plays a part in the name) and if you cant tell from the names below I sort of have a thing for the "ie" sound at the end.  I think we will stick with these & then name her when I deliver...so in no particular order :

Addison (Addie)
Kallen (Kali)
Annie
Haddie
Elle (Ellie)

For the middle name we will do either Jayne after my great aunt who passed away 4 years ago who has/had such a big and wonderful impact on my life.  Jayne is her middle name and I love how it is spelt a little different as well.  She was just an amazing woman and I would love to honor her.  Or we will do Joy after Emma (her middle name).  I am struggling with this because I think it is a great way to incorporate Emma but then I also want to differentiate the 2 because even though Emma isn't here with us, she is still her own person and I dont want to take anything away from her either.  Oh the dilemmas.

Well I have to get back to the Bachelorette!  It is getting good!!!!!!
